Construction commenced in 2004 on a University Learning Centre that is co-located with Mandurah Senior College and Challenger TAFE at the Peel Education and TAFE Campus. The University Learning Centre, completed in February 2005, includes an 80-seat video communications room, three 30-seat flexible teaching rooms, one multi-purpose laboratory and offices for technicians, administration and academic staff. Video and electronic communications links have been developed through Rockingham and Kwinana to the Murdoch campus for online access to unit materials and learning resources.
The Peel Campus, along with the Rockingham Campus, enables Murdoch University to provide educational opportunities for students in the Peel region, and for members of the local community to experience an integrated campus. Murdoch University and TAFE work in close partnership to provide a diverse range of qualifications, from Certificate-level to advanced research degrees across a wide range of subjects. Credit transfer arrangements enable students to transfer between the two education providers. The partnership is also building closer links with community, industry and business within the Peel region.
